I wonder if the sun ever feels lonely

I wonder if the sun ever feels lonely,
with drooping rays and gloomy days,
Looking at the vast, empty playground
of the blue-hued sky-
as the clouds’ indifference, obscures her,
Sliding down the swing-sets of the wind
Blowing past, and breezily sifting,
she watches; still, perched on her abode.
I wonder if the sun ever feels lonely,
A warmth wrapped within her
Smiles and embrace, feeding the plants
Yet when she holds out her grasp-
Like a baby grasps a finger
Her touch- a million infernos,
Sources hue and cry
From us, the ants under a magnifying glass
A smile of hesitant realization upon her face-
The cruel irony of love and light
Within emblazoning embraces.
I wonder if the sun ever feels lonely,
Lovers longingly gazing at her retreat,
Crimson seeping into the sky,
She slowly puts her toys away-
Shine and rays in trinket boxes,
And simmers into slumber,
Nestling herself into the horizon,
Her companion stars coming out to play,
Leaving when she awakes.
I wonder if the sun ever feels lonely,
Babbling shy promises of gentleness,
Hopes held, with expectant eyes
as she coos, coaxing our skin,
In our fickleness, we settle for half-smiles,
With faltering faith in her,
But steady in ourselves-
Claiming it might just be luck’s dances
Or dutiful prayers.
Bewildered, she sits in the sky
at this odd show and tell
situated in the midst of her paradoxes,
Upon her, she feels a smile-
A set of flowers beaming,
Inviting her out to play,
She giggles,
loneliness floating away.
